Technological Capabilities

Moscone Facility Services is the exclusive provider of wired and wireless internet and telephone service for the Moscone Center.  MFS manages and maintains the campus wired and wireless infrastructure, which is designed to meet the extreme demands of the event and trade show industry. We offer one stop shopping with a single point of contact and a master bill for all your internet, networking, wireless, and telephone needs. This saves time and money, while maximizing your connection speed and improving your service and support by providing all services in-house.

Moscone Facility Service has years of experience in the design and implementation of complex event networks, and understands how critical IT networking is to support your event and your attendees.  Our highly qualified staff works closely with Show Management and Sponsors to provide top-quality, cost-effective networks.

The core network boasts redundant core switches and routers while the access layer is comprised of enterprise-class gigabit PoE switches.  All links are dual 10Gbps for redundancy.

We also maintain three 10-Gigabit Ethernet circuits with redundant entrances into the campus.  These circuits are each from separate tier-1 providers.  This not only ensures the needed redundancy, but also allows more flexibility and greater capacity to meet the needs of even the most technologically demanding events.  These circuits are monitored 24/7 from the Moscone Center Network Operations Center. Custom network designs to meet the needs of customers is what we do every day. We will gladly build a custom quote based on your requirements.

The wireless capabilities of Moscone Center are some of the best in the industry.  In addition to maintaining an effective wireless infrastructure, we have the capability to design custom wireless networks to meet the most demanding requirements.  The wireless network is powered by Xirrus, a leader in large public venue wireless and is capable of providing a multitude of event needs.  We can provide simple access code based service to advanced networks with large bandwidth requirements.   Whatever your needs are from exhibit floor booth to keynote production to massive attendee Wi-Fi, we have a solution to offer. 

Moscone has a Distributed Antenna System that the major carriers participate, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint.  The DAS provides coverage throughout the campus and connects to the carriers’ cell site(s) which are located on premise.  Capacity is based on each carrier, and they do not share the information with us.

Moscone Center has also invested in fiber optic infrastructure to connect to several facilities near us.  We have direct fiber connectivity to the Marriott Marquis, InterContinental, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, City View and AMC Theatres at the Metreon. We can have video transport fiber on site and can get circuits to the switch on any destination you choose.

Telephone line orders include:

• Voice/fax/data grade unrestricted analog telephone line
• Touch-tone telephone instrument
• Installation

Optional Services for direct-dial lines include: restricted calls for local or credit card machines, call waiting, voicemail, single-line phone sets, digital multi-line phone sets, speaker phones, and conference phones.
