In accordance with Cal/OSHA guidelines, safety railing shall be provided on all open sides of unenclosed elevated work locations, including but not limited to runways, ramps, or working levels more than 30 inches above the floor, ground, or other working areas of a building.

The requirement applies to any riser in excess of 30 inches, including staging provided by outside vendors. Safety rails must be installed on the back AND sides of any platform higher than 30 inches

OR the licensee must sign a waiver releasing The Moscone Center from any and all liability from injury and damage associated with the structure in question. The waiver must be signed by a representative of the licensee before assembly of the structure is completed.
